# Introduction

> Turn signups into paying users. For growing companies who want to grow faster.

Dreamlit is a **Done-For-You** email service: we'll deliver an *exceptional out-of-app experience* to your users, and drive more users and revenue back to your product. You stay as involved as you like.

<Note>
  **Want to get started today?** We're onboarding a select few teams at a time,
  by hand. [Join the waitlist](https://dreamlit.ai) or feel free to [reach out

## What is Dreamlit?

If you're a growing company, you probably have users sitting dormant in your database, stalled out at some point in their user journey. What's the best way to activate them? What email sequences, messaging, timing, and optimizations should you run to get the most of your current funnel?

Dreamlit is for the teams that would rather leave it to the experts than experiment themselves. We've supported thousands of customers running email, and have compiled everything we've learned into a series of playbooks that we can bring to you.

Getting started is easy, thanks to Dreamlit's database driven approach. There's no SDK, no API to implement, or engineers to coordinate with. After a 15 minute setup (a read-only database connection), you can leave the rest to Dreamlit from there. We'll start tracking key metrics for you, configure the right email workflows end-to-end, and optimize everything, without needing any additional effort required from you.

## What can I expect?

You can expect:

* More paying customers and/or subscriptions
* More activated users, better engagement
* More customer calls booked

We'll own and implement your entire email strategy: the sequences, the copy and design, the sending, the optimization, and the weekly report on what moved. You'll see everything in your dashboard, including current metrics, live sequences, planned updates, recent wins, and more.

## What email sequences do you typically implement?

We've supported thousands of customers running email, and have learned what really moves the needle. We've distilled what works into playbooks across three types: **product education**, **win-back**, and **upsell**. Here's what we'd do for you.

<Note>
  You won't necessarily need all of these sequences, and this certainly isn't an
  exhaustive list. What you'll need depends on your industry, how your current
  funnel performs, and how your users already engage with email.
</Note>

**Product education**

* **Welcome sequence**: probably the most important sequence we will implement for you. Welcome emails typically receive outsized open rates - presenting an incredible opportunity for user activation and feature education. The more personalized you can get, the more likely they're going to engage. Most companies do a basic single email, if any; this is like lighting engagement on fire. Sophisticated companies take it much further: hyper-personalized per signup, reactive to what each user has already done, with feature education folded in based on the features they actually use.
* **Monthly product update**: so your users can hear all the shiny new updates since they last heard from you. We can run this for you every month, in your voice.

**Win-back**

* **Payment failure recovery**: a failed payment automatically gets a plain note and a link to update the payment method, so you don't need to chase them down yourself.
* **Key feature nudges**: users who stay active after onboarding but never reach a key step get a short push to try it, using their own work in the email as the example.
* **Activity digests**: where your product has activity worth reporting back (views, usage, results), a weekly digest of each user's own numbers, which is one of the strongest pulls back into a product.

**Upsell**

* **Upgrade emails at usage limits**: sent as a user approaches a plan limit, framed around the work they are doing right then, so the upgrade lands before the wall instead of after it.
* **Trial ending reminder**: a customized reminder to give your users a heads up that they will be losing access to key features, with exactly what resources they'll be losing outlined in the email to nudge them to upgrade.
* **Teammate invite reminders**: when an invite sits unaccepted, the invitee gets a reminder showing what their teammate has built since, so more invites turn into seats.

**Our approach**

Your emails should reach your users' Primary inbox, not their Promotions or Spam folders. Every email we send is built to read like a note from someone on your team, not a marketing blast:

* **Highly personal, not promotional**: plain, lightly formatted emails in your voice, sent from a real name at your domain.
* **Dynamic and real-time**: every sequence starts from a database trigger, and each email dynamically adapts to what that user has already done at various points in time, so it references their own progress instead of a generic pitch.
* **Sent at the right moment, not on a calendar**: workflows fire off live activity in your database, with frequency guardrails so nobody gets buried in email.
* **Measured against your baseline**: each sequence reports a tracked metric, verified against your baseline, and we keep adjusting as the data comes in.

This is the starting set. We lock in the final sequences and triggers after onboarding, once we've seen your data, and you can add any custom workflow of your own on top.

## What does setup look like?

Setup typically takes less than 15 minutes. For a detailed guide, [see here](/docs/setup).

<Steps>
  <Step title="Share your website url (<1 minute)">
    We send an army of AI agents to understand everything publicly accessible about your brand: positioning, key features, pricing model, who you sell to, and your industry.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect your data source (~5 minutes)">
    Allows Dreamlit to 1) build and diagnose your user funnel and key activation metrics 2) hook into key events happening in real-time to kick off email workflows.

    Dreamlit connects securely and reliably in a strictly scoped, read-only fashion to your database. See our [technical deep dive](/docs/setup) if you'd like to learn more.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set up your email sending domain (~5 minutes)">
    You'll want your emails to come from your domain (for example, [jane@mystartup.com](mailto:jane@mystartup.com)).

    We've partnered with a service called Entri to make this seamless. In most cases, it's an automated flow that only takes a couple of minutes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Schedule a call with our team">
    You'll have a dedicated (human) team member from Dreamlit's side overseeing and owning everything - no AI slop. To best understand your goals, positioning, and voice, we'll schedule a kick-off call so we can get started immediately.
  </Step>
</Steps>

From there:

| When | What happens |
| - | - |
| Week 1 | Onboarding. You connect the data source and sender, about 15 minutes, and join the positioning call. We handle everything else from here. |
| Week 2 | We research and build: funnel analysis, the sequence plan, email copy and design. You review and approve, and we may ask a few questions about your data model. |
| Week 3 | We go live. Sequences run on real signups with frequency guardrails baked in. Nothing for you to do. |
| Week 4 | Your first results report: what ran, what moved, what we're changing next. |
| Every week after | You receive the report. We ship the optimizations and propose additional sequences as your results and funnel point to them. |
